

Daniel was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Harold and Catherine (Holian) Mulcahy on February 3rd, 1954. He graduated from Union High School and Kean College in Union, New Jersey. After graduation, he enjoyed working for National and Pan Am Airlines in various capacities. During the 1984 Winter Olympics, he coordinated Pan Am Airlines logistics in Berlin, Germany. Following his involvement with the airlines, Daniel was employed by Cybernetics and Softtouch. He established a water bottling company called On the Water Front, Inc.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Catherine (Holian) Mulcahy.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Mary Mulcahy and his ex-wife, Toni Opitz, daughter Erin (Mulcahy) Dunne and son-in-law Edward James Dunne III, son Matthew Mulcahy and future daughter-in-law Lauren Alfonso, sister Eileen (Mulcahy) and George Brogan, brother Thomas and Kathleen Mulcahy, brother William and Joann Mulcahy, and grandson, the light of his life, Edward (Eddie) James Dunne IV.
Always staying active, Daniel loved escaping to Hollywood Beach to exercise or for a quick dip. His uplifting and positive spirit elevated everyone around him even when the New York Giants were losing. He always tried to leave a positive impact anywhere he went and that spirit resides in the memories of friends and family he left behind. One of his favorite bands, The Beatles, encompassed his view on life best, "life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting, my friend".
The family of Daniel wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Martin Dietrich (Memorial Hospital West) and the employees of Hampton Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Miami Beach, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Hampton Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Miami Beach, Florida where Daniel touched the lives of so many.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be scheduled for the near future.
