Deborah A Lauer, 65, of Plantation, FL., passed away on July 10, 2017. She was born on June 3, 1952 in Queens, N.Y. And raised in Long Island. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1970 and later attended Hofstra and the University of Miami.
After spending several years in Chicago, she returned permanently to Florida. In 1984, she gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Mackenzie. In 1987 Deborah became a real estate agent in Plantation where she met her future husband, John. Mackenzie and John were to remain the loves of her life.
Deborah loved to entertain and she loved her home. Family and friends were always welcome and her winter holiday party was the can't miss party of the season. She was the ultimate "hostess with the mostest"- the life of every party. The two parties, however, that made her the happiest, were the engagement party and wedding of Mackenzie and her husband, Jonathan.
She and John looked forward to traveling especially with family and friends. Her favorite places were Italy and the Hamptons. Another thing that was dear to her heart was the time she served on the board of Impact Broward, a non-profit that provided assistance to children, the elderly, and veterans.
Deborah liked to say that to have friends you had to be a friend and no one lived up to that more than she did. She loved her many friends and they loved her. She could always be counted on to provide a laugh, good advice, or a shoulder to lean on. This is perhaps her greatest accomplishment: that she was loved by so many and will be missed so deeply by so many.
She is preceded in death by her parents (Columbus and Eva Passmore) and is survived by her husband (John Underhill), her daughter (Mackenzie Adda), and her son-in-law (Jonathan Adda). She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 22 from 10:30am to 11:30amwith a memorial service to follow at Fred Hunter's 2401 S. University Dr., Davie, FL 33324(www.fredhunters.com). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Stroke Association (www.strokeassociation.org) in memory and honor of Deborah.
