Derald Smith

Derald Lee Smith, 70, passed away September 18, 2009 after a long fight for his life in Hollywood, FL. He was born and raised in West Liberty, OH. on May 22, 1939. He was married to Sondra ( Sunny) Jean Baillie- Smith of Urbana, OH. together they would have celebrated their anniversary on October 15, 2009. He formerly worked at Grimes Manufacturing in Urbana, OH. and Steel Products in Springfield, OH, as turret lathe operator. The family moved to Hollywood in June of 1971 where he happily remained until his death. Formerly worked at Liquid Carbonic for 20 years and Kenco Logistics a division of Whirlpool as a commercial driver until his health forced him to retire.. Derald and Sunny raised four children, sons: Jamieshawn Renee Smith, Mechele Lee Smith and daughters: Suzette Julianne Smith- Schoenbeck (Alan) and Mignon Necollette Smith-Marinelli. He was proud to be called St. Grandfather of eight grandchildren and love them all so much. They are: Meghan Ashlee Smith, Keagan Matthew Smith, Julianne Allynn Schoenbeck, Sierra Jamie Schoenbeck, Nicholas Giovanni Marinelli, Peyton Luciano Marinelli, Beijette Monet Marinelli, Luca Leonardo Marinelli. Also survived by, a sister, Beverly Smith Coleman and a brother, Don Ray Smith. A sister in law, Betty Smith and several nieces and nephews, especially Cheryl Hollingsworth and Kay Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton Charles Smith and Bertha Leota Johnson Smith of West Liberty, OH. and four sisters and a brother. He will be sadly missed by his whole family especially his grandchildren. He lived his entire life for his family, he was a devoted DOLFAN and a good golfer. He was a successful man, not in monetary means but in Love, Trust and faith in his family. He died holding the hand of the woman he always loved.
