

Del Shareef was born on March 8th, 1943 in the former village of Bombay, Trinidad to Labala Looknanan & Budhanie Looknanan. He came from humble beginnings and left his birthplace to seek a better life and a higher education. His journeys took him to the US Virgin Islands, then to Canada and then to the United States where he graduated from The University of Detroit, a Jesuit College, with a Bachelor’s in Accounting & Finance and worked in the profession for 40 years. He often referred to his life story as “coming from the sugar cane fields to the strawberry fields”.
Del Shareef is survived by his wife Vidyah Shareef; his children Daniel Shareef, David McAgy, Tamilla Shareef Dow, Ana Mohammed & his Godson Ranjeev Harrilal; his grandchildren Kane McAgy, Roman McAgy, Aiden Dow & Autumn Dow; his brothers and sisters Lall Looknanan, Mark Looknanan, Dularie Dwarkah & Teerbanie Balgobin; He is also survived by his many, many nieces and nephews. Del Shareef is preceded in death by his mother and father, nine of his siblings and his beloved son Shawn.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 1pm on Sunday, September 8th at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, Cemeteries, and Crematory (6301 Taft St, Hollywood, FL 33024). Arrangements are by Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home.
