He was born December 21, 1921 in Lennox SD to Henry E. and Alberta (Hoisington) Miller, the fifth of six children. He graduated from Lennox High School and shortly after moved to San Antonio TX. In 1942, he joined the military and left it 12 years later to care for his parents. In 1977 he moved to South Florida to spend his retirement near family. In 2003, at age 82, he was still walking 3500 miles a year - the equivalent of Maine to California. Walking was a passion for him and he befriended many others in his daily 10 mile walks.
He was pre-deceased by his two sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his nieces and nephews. He was truly a polite southern gentleman.
