Elorie Annmarie Forrest was born to Noel and Agatha Forrest on October 22, 1968, in the Beautiful Paradise Island of Jamaica. Elorie, the first to her father, was considered the love child of the union. A happy, bouncing baby girl with a splendor of laughter no one could resist. She was brilliant, cuddly and alert. As her cognitive years developed, she bloomed into a beautiful baby girl with one of the prettiest smiles one could behold. Her father Noel, being a musician, would play music for her all the time. Music and dancing became her first loves.
Elorie spent her early years living in Kingston, Jamaica with her loving parents. Her early education began at the Windward Road Primary School, Jamaica. She started school with a positive sense of self. Quickly she tempered her emotional arousal, overcome with fear, and accepted her newly found friends, providing positive affirmation. Soon she was dancing with the "Windward Road Primary School Dance Group." She was entering competitions, winning awards and creating a new phenomenon of her dance team.
Dancing and music were simply not enough for the young adolescent. Elorie was also academically smart. She was diligent in her studies and vowed to pass her Technical Entrance Examination and passed, she did. In her years of educational pursuit, she was selected to attend the Kingston Technical High School. (K.T.H.S). Her parents, who always had great dreams for her, migrated to the United States. Shortly thereafter, Elorie migrated to the United States to join her parents. She began attending Miami Edison Middle School (New Thomas Edison Educational Center). She later graduated and embarked upon her high school education at Miami Central Senior High School. Elorie displayed a great love for business and leadership. After her graduation from high school, she pursued a course in Business Management and leadership.
Here come the Master Challenges of her life: Love, relationship, children, college and career. With her partner, Donovan Jackson and their two boys, Marlando Mills and Andre Jackson, she took off her dancing shoes and put on her skating shoes for the family she loved and lived for. She kept them "tight," always looking well groomed, polished and fit for a magazine shot. It was not easy, but with a loving, caring and supportive partner, she was able to succeed in an era when women believed it was okay to be dependent on their mate. Elorie realized leading at work was good but leading at home was even better. As a mother and an executive entrepreneur, she acquired the same skill set to succeed in both places. Her relationship with Jackson eventually failed, but she remained consistent and persistent in her quest to succeed. She later tried again at love and married her current husband, Vernon Morgan.
Simultaneously, her career in the travel industry took off, skyrocketing. She started out with Carnival Cruise Line, where she eventually rose to become a supervisor. After serving Carnival with such superb leadership, she felt it was time to spread her wings and soar to higher heights. Elorie later landed a position with U.S Airways, which eventually merged with American Airlines. For career development and more opportunities, Elorie relocated to North Carolina.
Elorie spent her final three years in North Carolina with her husband of five years, Vernon Morgan. During these years she remained faithful in her love, care, deep affection, encouragement, and support to her family, the father of her two children and her friends. She was always texting a short message, to see how things are going. She was never too busy to listen and give a helping hand, sharing a joke or giving a word of encouragement. Her primary and final focus was her parents, love for her family and her God. In her final days, she made "broken" look beautiful and "strong" look invincible. She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings. There is no other like her and none to fill that space. She was unique and special in every way. "Blessed be she who can be both funny and furious yet remain magnificent."
Elorie Annmarie Forrest has left behind a legacy of character, love, and strength. Now she is finally at PEACE and is resting with her Lord and Savior. As she departed this world Sunday, December 23, 2018, she accepted her master's call because her work on earth was complete. Elorie leaves behind her husband Vernon Morgan; two sons, Marlando and Andre; parents Noel and Agatha Forrest, brothers Delroy, Bevan, Ricky, and Junior; sisters Paulette and Claudette; nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends.
