Emanuel Martinez

Mr. Emanuel Martinez, 87, of Hialeah, FL, went to his eternal home with the Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Miami Lakes, FL.  He was born on November 9, 1932 in Manhattan, New York to Narciso and Lydia Martinez.

Emanuel graduated from Spanish Central Bible Institute in 1951 and The New York School of Printing in 1952.  He served his country in the United States Army in active duty from December 5, 1952, including a wartime deployment to Korea in 1953, until November 4, 1954, and in active reserve from November 5, 1954, until his honorable discharge on November 30, 1960.

Emanuel worked various jobs in the textile and printing industries before retiring from Entenmann’s Bakery as a foreman on August 25, 1998 after 23 years of service.  In his private life, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and praising his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by attending church services, reading his Bible, watching anointed preaching and teaching on television, and playing drums and maracas with his family.

Emanuel was preceded in death by his devoted wife Providencia and his loving son Daniel.  He is survived by his cherished son Israel Martinez of Hialeah, FL, his treasured daughter Sylvia Smith of Davie, FL, his beloved siblings Rachel Kercado of Lake City, FL; Dorcas Martell of Pembroke Pines, FL; Alice Torres of Miami Gardens, FL; Samuel Martinez of Orlando, FL; Robert Martinez of Louisa, VA; Martha Ruiz of Miami Gardens, FL, and eight adoring grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions, there will be a time of indoor remembrance and appreciation for Emanuel for very close family, limited to 30 people, on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Fred Hunter Memorial Gardens, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL, 33024; 954-527-1550. 

All other family and friends are invited to share their appreciation at the outdoor graveside memorial and burial at approximately 2:00 p.m. at the same location.
