February 6, 1939-March 6, 2026
Born in East Stroudsburg, PA, Fran moved to Chicago, IL to be near her sister. After many years she left the cold winters for the warmth of sunny Delray Beach, FL.
Fran enjoyed spending time with family, having lunch with friends, doing puzzles, playing board games, decorating for Christmas, watching her favorite TV soap operas, and had an interest in photography. She was a constant presence for all those who loved her...always remembering a birthday or holiday....always there whenever you called her, if she was not already calling you. It will be difficult to imagine that she is no longer with us on this earth.
With an abundance of compassion for the canines in her life, Fran treated each and every one like the valuable family member they were. She would do anything to help or care for a dog in need. And they, in turn, brought her much joy and love. In her last hours, Frannie was comforted by the warm affection of her puppy nephew Chip, who melted into her arms and gave her lots of kisses. Frannie is now peacefully reunited with her beloved Missy, Nikki, and Puff.
Frannie will remain in our hearts. She will be dearly missed by her loving family, cherished friends, wonderful neighbors...the “Ladies of the Court”, and furry tail-wagging friends everywhere.
May her memory be a blessing.
Fran is survived by her daughter, Kim Carney [Rick]; sister, Lois Bolgla Merrithew; granddaughter, Erin Wilson [Scott]; nieces, Debra Bolgla [Dennis] and Robyn Bolgla [Jeff]; nephew, Wayne Bolgla [Bonnie]; great nieces, Jillian and Lauren; great nephews, Shane, Jackson, Aaron, and Seth; great grandchildren, Braxton and Eli; and dear friend Gloria Mondala.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hoyland Mae DeVivo and brothers-in-law Julius Bolgla and Fred Merrithew.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later time.
