

George Edward Harris, age 78 died of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension on April 8th 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. George is survived by his wife Linda, two children: Karin Elizabeth Kristiansen and husband Roger, George Nelson Harris and wife Janel. He also leaves behind 4 granddaughters: Elizabeth, Cathrine, Krista and husband Michael, and Kimberly and 2 great grandchildren Isabella and Evelina.
George was born October 9, 1938 to Elizabeth and Nelson Harris. Raised in New York George joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After his return to the US he started school. His undergraduate work was completed at West Virginia Wesleyan and his graduate work at Yale University. He then was ordained as a United Methodist minister. George continued to serve and joined the Army reserves in Connecticut where he was chaplain. To be better able to counsel and help others George returned to school and completed a master's degree in social work at the University of Connecticut.
George spent most of his adult life in Connecticut but after retiring, he and his wife Linda packed up their belongings and moved to Jensen Beach Florida. They enjoyed travelling despite his illness and were particularly fond of cruising alone and with family. George will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Services will be held at ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY WITH ARMY HONORS for Lieutenant Colonel George Edward Harris. Date and time are pending.
