Hiram Christopher Howard, known to most of those who were close to him, as Chris, was born October 12, 1952 in Miami, Florida. He was the fourth child born to Hiram and Martha Howard. Chris died on September 6, 2025 after fighting a valiant battle with cancer
diagnosed in 2022. At the time of his death Chris was 72 years old.
Chris graduated from Miami Carol City High School in 1970 and immediately joined the United States Navy. After serving for four years, Chris joined the United States Naval Reserve where he proudly served for thirty-four years achieving the rank of Senior Chief. After his service to the United States Navy and during the time he was serving in the United States Naval Reserve, Chris worked for the United States Postal Service where he retired
after serving for thirty-eight years. Chris was a faithful member of the Harding Street Church of Christ in Hollywood, Florida. Chris could always be depended on. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Hiram, his sister, Bonnie de Lagneau and brother Michael Howard. He is survived by his mother, Martha and sisters, Suzanne, Barbara and Christine. Services will be conducted on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024 with Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will take place at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Park with full military honors.
