Matchus, Ildiko Deak passed away suddenly on September 17, 2015. Born in Hungary on October 30, 1950, she arrived in the United States in January, 1957 with her family as a result of their fleeing the country during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Ildiko is survived by her two loving sons, Michael and John, sister Elvira Deak, nephew James Walls, and close family friend Mary D Miller. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Dr. Imre Deak 2009 and Elizabeth Deak 2014.
Ildiko was a dedicated Miami-Dade County Public School teacher and Media Specialist for over 40 years in both elementary and high school levels. A University of Florida alum, Ildiko received her Masters and Media Certification from Nova Southeastern. Throughout her career she dedicated herself to her students, schools, and faculty members. She attended every football game, prom, or school event and was sure to capture everyone on camera. Ildiko was supportive, caring, and memorable for her warm and loving personality. She was beloved by her students and colleagues alike. She was a member of several professional organizations, and the Miami Shores Presbyterian Women's Circle. We take comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared her love.
