Isalene Cadogan

Isalene Evangeline Cadogan (Izzy) peacefully passed away at Westside Regional Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL on October 25, 2019 at 4:30am, after a short illness. Isalene was born on Sunday May 30th 1965 in Christ Church, Barbados to Euleta Cadogan-Edwards and Orland Ashby. Mother of Cordell Valentine Rogers II and Stepmother to Wayne and Zhane Harris. Special friend of Cecil Grant. Stepdaughter of Joycelyn Gooding, Sister of Suzanne, Mark and Wyatt Cadogan, Sherry Small and stepsister to Lana Barrow-Coward. Granddaughter of James and Kathleen Cadogan and Wilfred and Ivy Ashby (all deceased). Aunt of Shivolli DaSilva, Dylan Stovall and Abigail Cadogan.  Great Aunt of Sana, Serenitee and Derrick Favor Jr. Sister-in-law of Arsele Cadogan.

Isalene was educated at Christ Church Girls School, Pine Primary School, and Green Lynch Secondary School in Barbados. In July 1981, Izzy migrated to the Bronx, New York and attended Theodore Roosevelt High School.  She furthered her education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology.

While in the Bronx Izzy was a member of Bronx Pentecostal Church where she served as choir member and also Choir Director.

Izzy worked for Daytop and then New York Wildlife Conservation (Bronx Zoo) for 17 years while living in New York. In 2008 she relocated to Dacula Georgia and worked as a Benefit Specialist for Primerica in Duluth, GA for about 10 years and retired in October of 2018 to relocate to Barbados where she got to live her best life.

Izzy was a hard worker and was loved by her co-workers, clients, and others. She was funny, loving and a very friendly young lady.  Izzy express her unique personality everywhere she went. She wasn’t an antisocial person because she spoke to everyone she saw. She loved shoes, shoes, and more shoes especially her Christian Louboutin, even her license plate had a symbol of a shoe. She loved shopping for bargains. Her hobbies were shopping, going to the beach and traveling (her favorite place was Paris). Her favorite meal was Cou-Cou with red herring (a Bajan delicacy). Her favorite color was green and her animal was a frog (Kermit the frog) and she loved listening to Beyoncé’s and soca music.

Izzy was the niece of Yvonne, Fitzgerald, Dianne Cadogan, John (deceased) & Theresa Craigg, George (deceased) & Freda Cadogan, Doreen Kinch, Isalene Nurse (her name sake), Clive Nurse, Randolph Nurse (deceased) and Monica David of the United Kingdom. Cousin of Godfrey Nurse, Shevon Estwick, Sonia Kinch and Cheryl David, Bernice Sealy, Juel Newton, Angela, Mark, Obrien, John & Jeffrey Cadogan and many others, the entire Chase Family. Some of Izzy's friends are Edwina Jackson, Lilian Erskine, Lillieth Simpson, New York, Rosemary Burke, Jennifer Clarke, Patricia Watts, (Barbados), Maxine, Adrianne and Ansleigh of Primerica. Izzy and her brother Mark were inseparable, they called each other PLAYER and they both loved watching football. Mark was always there for his big Sister. They loved each other, and were like two peas in a pod, he will miss her very much. Izzy was very excited, and was making plans to be at her son’s wedding to Victoria Diamond on July 11, 2020.

Izzy you were a remarkable person and we will miss you dearly. Sleep in peace and rise in glory.
