Born on September 24, 1954, in Honduras, Isolina was the beloved daughter of Jose Perdomo and Alejandrina Perdomo. She later made New York City her home, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. On November 2, 1978, she married the love of her life, Celestino Mendez, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned decades. Isolina was a proud graduate of Manhattan College and carried her love of learning throughout her life.
Isolina was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jacobo Perdomo.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Celestino Mendez; her son, Yonipson Rene Bonilla; her daughter, Amaryllis Mendez; and her treasured grandchildren, Andy Bonilla, Derick Bonilla, and Genesis Bonilla. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love for them knew no bounds.
The family of Isolina Mendez extends heartfelt gratitude to all who loved, supported, and honored her during her time on earth. Isolina loved the Lord above all else, and her life reflected a heart always turned toward serving others.
We are deeply thankful for your prayers, kindness, and support during this time. May the Lord bless each of you as you have so graciously blessed our family.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
