Ivy Ruth was born in Newport, St. Catherine Jamaica on October 10, 1930, daughter of George and Ivy Wahrmann. She attended Harewood School in Jamaica where she was successful in passing the 3rd year Pupil Teachers Examination.
In 1981, she and her husband came to the United States and settled in South Florida. At the time of her passing she was retired.
Survivors include her beloved husband Churton Beckford, daughter Tanya Dyke, sisters; Lorna Dyer, Verna Hylton, Patricia Small and Norma Lee as well as a brother Calvin Wahrmann (known as Sonny) and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation on Thursday, July 3rd from 4-8 p.m. at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Garden Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. Funeral Service on Saturday, July 5th at 12:00 noon at the Church of the Resurrection, 6701 S.W. 26th Street, Miramar Florida. Bishop David Simpson will officiate.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
