Jim was born in DeLeon, Texas, on May 2, 1921 to James Hudie Handlin and Lou Wranza Smith. He has been married to Delores Handlin for over 60 years, who passed 7 years prior on Dec. 29, 2006. He was survived by his four children Loretta Pate, Dennis Handlin, Bonnie Handlin, Brian Handlin and his six grandchildren, Jennifer Howard, Shelley Finn, Sheri Howard, Kimberly Maxson, Meghan Handlin, and Emmalee Handlin, along with two great grandchildren, Austin and Ava Weinreb.
Jim was a veteran of World War II, where he served 4 years. Jim touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 11th, from 12-2 pm at Fred Hunters in Hollywood, Florida.
