Jim was born in San Diego, California on September 17th, 1944 and was preceded in death by his wife Rosalie Watts of 42 years; mother Myrtle T. Mitchell; father Edward T. Watts; and beloved son James E. Watts II.
He is survived by daughter Michele L. Myers; step-daughter Audrey Denson; son-in-law Gary E. Myers Jr.; sister Nancy Panty; granddaughters Lauren and Kaila; and great grandchild Emilia.
Jim graduated in 1963 from Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama were he resided. He moved to Florida in 1965 and started working for Metro-Dade Police Department in 1966. He was drafted in the United States Army during Vietnam in 1967. He retired as a Lieutenant from Metro-Dade Police Department in 1991 after serving 25 years. He went on to become a General Contractor and also served as a Public Works Director for the City of Sunny Isles Beach for 10 years.
Jim was a very avid reader, loved motorcycles and woodworking and building. He was adored by his friends, family and co-workers throughout his lifetime.
