Janet was born on April 18, 1949 to the late Harold and Ruth Atkins in Craig Hill, Jamaica, West Indies.
Janet was educated in Gordon Town School system in Jamaica West Indies. Janet migrated to the United States, where she resided with her sister Ann Marie who had been her caregiver until the Lord called her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and two nephews.
Janet was a woman of fashion, she had a style of her own, she loved her clothes, gardening, dancing, being the life of the party and flowers. Janet also had a love of jewelry, lots of glitter and glam. She loved her music. She was a kind, funny and generous fun-loving person, who enjoyed life, spending time with family and most of all looking for her nieces to pamper her doing her nails and toes.
Janet touched many lives during her time on earth and her loving spirit will be remembered.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory her four sisters, Lyn, Elethia, Ann Marie, Sharon and her brother Winston; six nieces Maureen, Carol, Dawn, Gail, Sade and Shanée; eight nephews, Wayne, Paul, Danny, Desmond, Mark, Jamal, Kevin and Shawn; three brother-in-laws, George, Norman and Cannon and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
