

Janet Klug Saxton, born November 10, 1939, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2022. Jan was born in Pittsburgh, PA to parents, Geraldine Bechtle Klug and William A. Klug. She grew up with her sister, Betty and brother, Bill, in Sewickley, PA just outside of Pittsburgh and attended Avonworth High School. Jan relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1977 with her two young daughters, Sheryl and Sally. She began working for a finance company and was later introduced to yacht documentation. Janet opened her own company, Jan Saxton Yacht Documentation, in the early 1980’s, which she ran successfully until her death. Jan was involved in many aspects of the boating industry, including her term as President of The Marine Industries Association of South Florida. She also served for many years as a volunteer for Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, FL. Janet leaves behind her beloved daughter Sally Saxton, Sally’s husband, Neil Hennessy, her younger brother, William Lee Klug and wife, Niphatta and their son Teerawat, her niece, Colleen DiDonato and husband, Vince, great nieces and nephews, Sean Simpson, Brooke Mullis (Bryan), Kathryn Rivers (Cody) and Kyle DiDonato. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerry and William, sister, Betty Corson, and her cherished daughter, Sheryl Saxton. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to any of Jan’s favorite charities, The Wounded Warrior Project, Marion County Animal Services or Estelle’s House (hospice) in Ocala, FL. Services will be held at Fred Hunter Funeral Home - Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 3PM - 5PM. Interment will be at Boca Raton Mausoleum, Boca Raton, FL.
