Dear Carlucci Family, Although I haven't spoken to Uncle John for years, he has always been in my mind and heart. You will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Dear Nancy: I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I know how much you loved him and how much he loved you by all the family photos you have shared with me. To Fran, his buddy. I know you will forever find joy in the boat he gave you the JSea. To Michael and Johnny, Im sure he is looking over you and saying how proud he is about the wonderful young men you have both become. To Sarah, Lily and Lt. Michael may you get to know your great grandpop with wonderful stories from you grandmom. Finally to Mr. Carlucci... May you find peace resting at the hands of our Lord.

It is a great tribute to my Grandfather everytime my family and I fish on the boat he gave us, the "JSea" Each time we take it out, catch a fish or just go for a ride, I know you will be right there with us Grandpop. Save a hand of "May I" for me, I love you.Johnny

I remember days at the shore house with John, lots of laughs and playing cards, Fondest memory was when we got stuck in the ocean on the boat (Me, Tom, John and Robbie) and John (Nancy's son) pulled out a fishing rod and started fishing while we were stuck and John's grand-pop came and rescued us. He was such a good man.. RIP

Written and shared by Jackie Carlucci-Staley at my father's funeral service.Farewell for now First I'd like to thank all of you who have come here today to pay your respects to my father. As most of you know my Dad, John Battista Carlucci was a man of many talents, he could fix almost anything. He could rewire a house, do carpentry, wall paper with my uncle Don in his younger years, he could build everything from a closet to a car in the sand that I and my cousins here today could play in when we were young. And if you wandered away or were in the water and it was time to leave he had a special whistle to call us that sounded like this....(my family whistled). He kept these tradition alive for his grandchildren. He had a workshop in the basement where his grandchildren could always find him tinkering. One Christmas he setup a grocery store in the basement for his grandchildren to play store that they loved. He loved being a grandfather so much so that he named one of his boats Pop Pop's boat. He was the captain of his boat and boy did he love to fish, he was an expert at filleting them. When anyone went fishing on his boat you had to put up a quarter and who ever caught the first keeper fish won the pool. He could swim like Johnny Weissmuller too, he would dive into a wave in the ocean and when he came up he'd be in deep water. He also fancied himself a photographer when he was younger with the newest camera on the market, he took tons of pictures and the old silent wind up movies of family and parades which he loved then. My uncle Don was also taking pictures when the family was together and we were always together. So my cousins have the pictures with my Dad in them and I have the pictures with uncle Don in them. My Dad also had a knack for all things Christmas, he decorated the tree, inside and outside the house and set up trains. He was crazy about his trains, he had two sets of trains. I remember one year he set up trains that ran from a platform in the living room down the basement steps to another platform and back again. He was meticulous about the tree putting one piece of tinsel on at a time and rapping gifts was one of his specialties. If it was your birthday he would go to great lengths to rap, I don't know 25 plus things one at a time in layers of newspaper, boxes and tape put into a big box and you would unravel something over and over only to reveal a pencil or a paperclip and how we all laughed and how delighted we were to receive that special gift of time and effort. My Dad was lots of fun at Halloween time he would dress like Frankenstein, he even made platform shoes on blocks of wood to be authentic and everyone loved it. He continued this tradition of getting dressed up for Halloween and he made many interesting costumes. Oh and lets not forget that he was a master at playing cards. I mean every card game I ever heard of my Dad could play and taught to me and many others. Yes my Dad had many talents and what a charismatic personality, his smile could light up a room. He had a passion and that was singing, in his day he could sing like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby all rolled into one. Many of us here today have had fun singing with him around our player piano when I was a child or at an occasion when he would pass out copies of his book of songs. So many wonderful memories with him.My Dad was a wonderful father, stepfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, grandfather, Godfather, uncle, friend and as Hazel can attest a kind and loving husband. I am truly grateful and blessed to have had the opportunity to spend these last several years in Florida visiting him and Hazel creating special memories and being a part of their holiday traditions with my Florida family, taking lots of pictures and videos of us singing together that I will treasure always. I want to thank you Hazel for being such a good and loving caregiver for my father over the years. I know it hasn't been easy, but you did it to the end. I am so grateful we were with him together at his passing.The last time my Dad was in Philadelphia, four years ago he gave me this necklace, Hazel said it was the last thing he managed to do on his own. On the back it reads, "A daughter is of greater worth than all the precious jewels on earth". I feel the same way Dad, you are my precious jewel. We all will miss him but the memory of John B. Carlucci will live on in our hearts forever. Today I am joyful that he is now at peace with Jesus in heaven singing with the angels. I love you Dad, see you in heaven. Farewell for now.
