John C. Chinelly, Jr.

Pastor John Chinelly Jr., 81, of Hollywood, Florida went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on the 7th of May 2022.John was born in Rochester, New York on February 7, 1941, the son of John Sr. and Judith (Glogowski) Chinelly.John was a faithful Christian and his love of Jesus was evident throughout his decades of ministry, which spanned multiple states and countries. His servitude extended worldwide initially through missions work, until he found a home at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, overseeing various departments and ministries during his 30+ year tenure. John also dedicated time to over a dozen church boards, ensuring God's work was being done across state lines. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who used his time, talents and treasures to constantly bless his family, friends and anyone in need. John left a legacy of compassion, care, and love after spending a lifetime focusing on his spiritual growth and pouring into those around him. He truly exemplified Christ-like character. John is predeceased by his late wife of 58 years, Constance E. Chinelly; and survived by his beloved daughters, Kimberly Repaci (Anthony) and Renee Fiorilli (Mike Sr.); his grandchildren Jennifer, Stephanie, Michael Jr. (Justin), Steven, and Tiffany (Charles); his siblings Richard (Joanne), James Sr. (Pamela), and Celeste (Mark); and many loving nieces and nephews.John's wish was that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in his memory to Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale (calvaryftl.org), where he and Connie served in ministry for over 30 years.Memorial DetailsA celebration to honor John's life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 1pm at Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale in the Main Sanctuary (2401 W Cypress Creek Rd, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 33309).  A live stream of the memorial will also be available at this link: https://calvaryftl.org/memorialservice/.  The family will receive guests at a reception in the banquet halls immediately following the service, where light refreshments will be served.
