John was born in Flushing to Sal and Kay DeMarco on November 29th, 1952. He went to school at Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School in Queens, New York. John moved to South Florida in 1976 where he and his then wife, Martha (Dippolito) DeMarco, raised their two daughters, Lauren and Krista.
John will be remembered for his magnetic personality, joyful spirit, and energetic lifestyle. He loved being on the water, skiing, fishing, and boating, or visiting the Colorado mountains snowboarding and spending time with his sister’s family. His greatest pride were his daughters, Lauren and Krista, and their husbands, Michael and Phillip. John enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren, Audrey and Ashton, and his significant other, Patti, all who he loved dearly. He was a member of the Burn One Ski Club where he met lifelong friends who remain family. John worked in Sales for Peterbilt for nearly 30 years and was loved by all his co-workers and customers. He was known as one of the best in the industry.
John is preceded in death by his parents Sal and Kay DeMarco and his sister Connie (DeMarco) Madden.
John is survived by his significant other Patti Christianson, his two daughters and their husbands, his daughters’ mother, his sister, his two grandchildren, and his mother’s sister. They include Lauren DeMarco-Stadtlander, Michael Stadtlander, Krista (DeMarco) Wade, Phillip Wade, Martha DeMarco, Pat DeMarco-Farmer, Audrey Wade, Ashton Wade, and Janet O’Neill.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 o’clock on Friday, November 17th, 2023, at Saint David’s Catholic Church in Davie, Florida with a celebration of life luncheon following.
The family of John sincerely appreciates Dr. Abraham Schwarzberg and the team at The Cancer Center of South Florida and the team at Trustbridge Hospice by the Sea for the wonderful care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, John had asked for donations to be made to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center through the Dolphins Cancer Challenge. He has been supporting this cause with his family since 2017 and was a true cancer fighter long before he began his own battle against cancer. Donations In Loving Memory of John DeMarco
