John William Hood, born November 21,1933 in Miami, Florida passed away early Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his wife Mona Lisa Hood, son John Michael Hood and sisters Mary and Edna. He is survived by his brother Lawrence Hood, sons Dale (Christine) and Scott (fiancé Debbie), daughter in-law Mary Hood, grandchildren Heather Cardassi, Nicole Scruton (Greg), Bretmichael Hood, Dr. Channing Hood, Scott Bo Hood, Mariah Hood (fiancé Kyle) , John Hood and Michael Hood, great grandchildren Kaiden, Kole, Everett and Oliver and many nieces and nephews.
John was a Veteran of the United States Army and Air Force. He retired from Bell Telephone / AT&T as a division manager with “36 years of service”. After his career John started his own company, Quality Communications, a thriving telecommunications company.
John was a great athlete and excelled in baseball and fast pitch softball in his younger years. John was an avid sports fan. He loved the Dolphins, Marlins and enjoyed golfing and going to the horse races.
John was a dedicated member of Griffin Road Church of Christ and will be missed by all.
