Known to many as "Slim," was born on May 17, 1992 in Miami, FL. He is the first child and only son of John and Christine McFarlane, and big brother to Johnese McFarlane. He was raised in Miramar, FL. He attended Fairway Elementary, Glades Middle and Everglades High.
John was a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and more to his family and friends. He was a beloved and cherished soul to those who knew him. He was someone who enjoyed life and the living thereof. He was someone who loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a child and son that brought happiness and joy to his parents. He was the brother who guarded and protected his little sister. He was the grandson who could do no wrong in the eyes of his grandparents. He was the nephew that was more than a nephew to his aunts and uncles. He was the cousin that everyone loved to be around. He was the friend you would do anything for and cherished like family. He brought a smile to all who knew him.
John was a jovial and optimistic young man. He inspired to be an entrepreneur and follow in the footsteps of his mother, grandmother and grandfather. Anyone who knew John, knew he was determined and pursued his dreams. He was a great story teller like his father and loved to laugh and make others laugh. By all accounts he was a joker and natural comedian. Family and friends can easily recollect one of the many moments when he made us laugh.
From the smile and laugh to the fashion and style, John was a dynamic young man. This was evident in all the pictures and memories that we have of him. His close friends would consider him a "boss" and "go-getter". If you had the pleasure of knowing John, you know he lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed his time here on earth. While this could never provide enough solace to the friends and family, we can take comfort in the fact that he lived his life the way he wanted to, and that's more than many people do in a lifetime.
John will truly be missed, but surely never forgotten.
