Mr. McMillan is survived by his wife, Candace, his two children Justin and Erin McMillan, his brother Daniel McMillan, sister-in-law Jan and sister Loisan Thompson.
John, known to family and friends as Jack, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 19, 1947 to John Edward McMillan Sr. and Ethelmae (Schmitt) McMillan. Jack spent his early childhood in Pittsburgh before moving to Hollywood, Florida where after completing high school at McArthur joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam with distinction. Jack's dedication to helping others began in 1978 when he joined the Hollywood Fire Department where he served the city of Hollywood tirelessly until his retirement as Division Chief in 2005. During his time at the fire department Jack taught at Broward Community College and volunteered as mentor to students at Hollywood Central Elementary and more recently with the Senior Touchline at Broward 211.
Jack was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend and will be remembered fondly by all.
