

John H. "Shakie" Trembly, age 68 of Pembroke Pines, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the University of Washington Medical Center. His passing occurred unexpectedly while traveling across country.
Born in Mendota, Illinois, on February 23, 1947, John was the son of the late Arthur and Florence (Martin) Trembly. Raised and educated in Mendota, he was a graduate of LaMoille High School. John proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army. On April 14, 1984 at the MGM Grand in Reno, NV, John was joined in marriage to Rosie Baetens. Their journey through life was filled with the joy and focus on family.
John was a cross country truck driver for many years. For the last 15 years he held a position with Jim Palmer Trucking. Strong willed and determined, John had a heart of gold. Along his journey's he enjoyed many conversations and new friendships. He was a member of the Davie Moose Lodge and the Hollywood American Legion.
John is survived by his wife, Rosie; his daughters and sons-in-law, Leasa and Mike Delp and Kerrie and Ed West; his son and daughter-in-law, BJ and Carly Hodgett; his grandchildren, Kayla, Karissa, Annie, Edward and Marcella; his great grandchildren, Hayden, Jonniy, Alaina, Jerami, Jayden and Myracle; his sisters and brothers-inlaw, Linda McGuire, Sandra and Ray Mann and Betty and John Bulfer; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert "Butch" Trembly, James and Jana Trembly and Billy Trembly; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and in-laws, June and Ron Panizzi, Joe and Betty Baetens and Jim and Cammie Heiser and Carol and Raymond Robinson, Nancy and Ralph Gillespie and Marilyn Heiser . He was predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 3:00 - 5:00 at the Fred Hunter Funeral Home 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. In lieu of flowers please kindly consider donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Shakie's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 5:00 immediately upon the conclusion of visitation with military honors.
