Jack left to be with the Lord, peacefully, surrounded by his adopted family of 30 years, with whom he had lived for the last seven years, following his heart surgery. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Jack joined the army at age 18 and went on to become a Major with the Air Force during WWII. After the war, Jack attended Columbia University. He became a prominent Manhattan Attorney, a profession he followed until his 80's. Jack's love for life and adventure had him indulging in the purchase of a twin CESSNA 310, which he often flew to the Caribbean with his dear friend Peter, the navigator. These trips sealed a life-long friendship for over 60 years for the two men, who often took other friends with them on their flights up and down the east coast of the United States. When Jack wasn't flying his airplane with Peter, he was touring the rest of the World with Tamy, Debby and Daniel. One of his favorite past times were cruises and his favorite country to visit was Brazil, whose carnival was a yearly event that Jack always looked forward to. When Jack was 80, he retired to the good life in Florida, where he enjoyed his close friends and family for the rest of his life. Jack leaves a remarkable legacy of caring and love, not only for his family, but also for others less fortunate than him. Unknown to all but those closest to him, Jack quietly contributed much of his wealth to charities of his choice. We want to thank the Doctors, nurses, physical therapists especially the caregivers who attended to Jack's needs the last 7 years of his life. The visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Fred Hunter's Downtown Ft. Lauderdale Home. The mass will be offered at St. Clements Catholic Church on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11:00 am followed by interment at Hollywood Memorial Gardens East with Military Honors. After the interment a reception will be held in honor of Jack's life for close friends and family. Condolences may be shared at www.fredhunters.com.
