

Joseph Ralph Scopa, 93, of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away on August 7, 2023. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Scopa, his sisters Lorraine Fama, Anna Ciardo and Francis Quarentello, his brothers Ralph Scopa and Robert Scopa. He is survived by his three sons Paul Scopa (Tina), Michael Scopa (Linda), and Ricky Scopa (Debbie), his nine grandchildren Joseph M. Scopa, Joseph A. Scopa (Crystal), Carolyn Scopa, Nicholas Scopa (Megan), Melissa Scopa, Sarah Brown (Tim), Stephen Scopa, Angela Scopa, and Frankie Scopa, his two great-grandchildren Mia Scopa and Timothy Brown III, his companion Eileen Tesh and countless extended family and friends.
Joseph was born in East Boston, Massachusetts where he met his beloved wife Marie and started their family. He later moved to Florida where he served as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Pembroke Pines for 24 years.
His greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his family, watching the Patriots, going to the casino and traveling the world.
Together with his wife, their most cherished charity was St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family requests contributions in their honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
Visiting hours will be Friday, August 11, 2023 from 5pm-9pm at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home; 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024
Church services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11am at Nativity Catholic Church; 5220 Johnson St, Hollywood, FL 33021. Procession will follow for burial services.
