Joycelyn Laverne Boston-Johnson was born on a cold winter's night December 13th, 1982 in North Valley Stream, New York. She was a vibrant, loving and outspoken woman. She was the unexpected gift from Jehovah, according to her mother Betty Boston, that never stopped giving. Her generosity knew no bounds.
Being the youngest and having nine plus years apart from her older siblings. Joycelyn was the designated chaperone for Sarah and Lonnie and Sylvester during his California adventures that lead to his marriage to Showeshi.
Raised in New York, you could either find her in the city or hosting a gathering for her friends in the basement. She also spent the majority of her time in field service, usually doing street work on Linden Blvd.
She soon found herself flying back and forth from New York to Florida to hang out with her brother and sister and their families.
Joycelyn had one of the biggest smiles that you would ever see. She always loved to sing; her favorite song was At Last by Etta James, she would sing that song every day. And even though Sylvester got tired of hearing that song he could never tell her to stop.
Eventually, she found her own love with Gaarcia Johnson at an Assembly for Jehovah Witnesses. Fishing for any reason to talk to him she came up with the perfect excuse and asked, "Are these seats taken?" and the rest is history. Together they had a beautiful child on February 14th, 2015 named Greyson G. Johnson. He was her everything.
Joycelyn passed away, along with her unborn child, on December 24th.
Joycelyn is survived by her husband Gaarcia Johnson and son Greyson G. Johnson; her father Lavern Boston; her sister Sarah Celestine Roberts (Lonnie Roberts); her brother Sylvester Boston (Showeshi Boston); her nieces and nephews Cameron, Morgan (Felicia Roberts), Racine Roberts, Rodjhawn and Ronyahlee Lindo, and one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, along with a host of other family and friends.
