

Beloved son, husband, and father; Larry H. Leatherwood, 68, of Pompano Beach, Florida, died November 10, 2012, from his battle with COPD. Mr Leatherwood was born May 29, 1944 in Washington D.C.to Alexander H. Leatherwood, Jr. and Jacqueline J. Crocker. He attended McLean High School in McLean, Virginia. At the age of 17, Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and was on active duty for 4 years, being Honourably discharged in 1967. Upon his return stateside, Larry was the Owner/Operator of Kingswood South, Inc. Larry was a very independent and ambitious individual with the desire to protect and enhance the lives of those around him; he passes these traits along to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Larry's two oldest children reside in California; he was very proud of each of them and their accomplishments. He also enjoyed many years of coaching Little League for his two middle sons here in Pompano Beach, collecting time pieces, grand-father clocks and studying law and case management. Larry was blessed with his youngest daughter later in life and spending time with her and her friends was a highlight of his life. He is survived by his father, Alexander H. Leatherwood, Jr. of Tennessee; his wife, Dorothy A. Leatherwood of Pompano Beach, Florida; five children, Stephen, Carin, Terry, Steven and Tammy; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline J. Crocker, and younger brother, Keith D. Leatherwood.
