

Leroy resided in North Miami Beach and was born in Miami to John Clare and Henrietta Clare on March 13th, 1925. He attended school in Nassau, Bahamas. He had a long and loving relationship with his fiancée, Karlene Gordon. Leroy was a dedicated truck driver for more than 20 years.
As we mourn his life, we celebrate the legacy he left behind – a life of faith and unshakable strength.
Leroy was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He served in the US Army for over 22 years. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal during his time of service.
Leroy Clare is preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta Clare and is survived by his fiancée, Karlene Gordon and stepchildren, Brandon, Shantelle, and Tasha.
The time and date of service will be disclosed at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being held at Fred Hunter Funeral home in Hollywood, FL.
The family of Leroy Clare wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Hayley Malloy at the Veterans Hospital in Miami for her loving and professional care throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) or any other Veterans charity.

A visitation for Leroy will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. A committal service will occur Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens East, Taft St, Hollywood, FL 33024.
