Linda was born in the hamlet of West Islip on Long Island, NY, to Edward and Eileen O’Brien, December 8th, 1957. In the fall of ‘69, at the age of 11, her parents moved her and her siblings to North Miami to start a new, warmer life in sunny South Florida. In 1980, while vacationing in Key West, Linda met her future husband Randall Fouché, a Coast Guardsman on shore leave during the Mariel boatlift crisis. Five years later, on September 28th, they were married in the historic Church of St. Bernard de Clairvaux in North Miami Beach. She spent the following decades as the matriarch of the O’Brien-Fouché clan, raising her three sons in the house-by-the-canal she fell in love with and bought in 1992.
With an unparalleled work ethic, Linda diligently worked as a paralegal for over forty years, forming lifelong friendships with her employers and coworkers alike–and maybe intimidating an unlucky few along the way.
She’ll be remembered as a voracious reader of nonfiction, a consummate beach bum, an unwavering animal lover, a caring mother who would do anything for her sons, a dedicated sister and aunt, a fiercely loyal friend, a doting Nana (who happened to have a pool), and the love of her husband's life.
Linda is preceded in death by her father Edward, mother Eileen, and brother Michael.
Linda is survived by her husband Randy; her sons Ryan, Kevin, and Lee; her oldest brother Eddie, his wife Peppy, and their sons Eddie, Danny, and Dennis; her twin sister Laura and her children, Casey and Caitlin; her youngest brother Christopher; her grandson Caleb; and her three cats, Girly, Girly’s Girl, and Ernie.
She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held October 26th in the chapel at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Pembroke Pines at 10am, followed by a reception at the American Legion Post 321 in Cooper City.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Friends of Animals.
