21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Lizabeth was born on February 14, 1969, in Medellín, Colombia, to Dario Trujillo Montoya
and Lucy Delgado. She grew up in Miami Beach, where she attended school and later
graduated from Phoenix University. On September 8, 2000, she married Ricardo Verjano in
Miami Beach, FL, forming a partnership grounded in love and dedication.
Lizabeth was a passionate and selfless advocate for families in need. She worked as the
Program Director for the Federation of Families Miami-Dade Chapter for nearly ten years, a
role in which she touched countless lives. She never met anyone she didn’t want to help,
and through her work with the Federation and other organizations, she provided support
and hope to families across the Greater Miami area during their most difficult times.
Lizabeth faced the profound loss of her daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Verjano, with grace
and determination. She channeled her grief into creating the Katherine Elizabeth
Foundation, which provides hope, support, and healing to families coping with loss.
Beyond her foundation, Lizabeth was deeply involved in the Miami Beach Latin Chamber of
Commerce and played a key role in the Sister Cities program connecting Miami Beach and
Cozumel, Mexico.
Lizabeth is survived by her husband, Ricardo Verjano, and her loving children, Nathon Allen
Berndt and Nikole Alexis Rodriguez, as well as her stepchildren, Ricky, Jonathann, and Julio
Verjano. Her memory will also live on through her adored grandchildren, Katheryn Victoria,
