Marie was born in Saratoga Springs, New York to Gordon and Ruth Benson on July 24, 1938. She went to school at Ballston Spa high. She married Roberto Alvarez on June 7 in Florida.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the Kleinrichert family for 38 years and also worked at the Seminole Casino in Hollywood as a cashier for over 5 years.
She was involved in the Eagle Club and with the Children’s Caring Cancer Center for the James Jr. Fund Inc. where she was on the board and helped raise over 7 million dollars. She was crowned Queen of Saratoga Springs.
Marie Alvarez is preceded in death by Donald Benson, Gordon Benson, and David Benson.
Marie Alvarez is survived by Sherri Hudson, Terri and Stephen Smith, Robin and Mitch Bierfass, Roberto Alvarez Jr. and Kelley West. Robert Benson, Bill Benson, Barbara Benson, Thomas Baxter, Donna McCarthy, Betty Rice, Ann Marie McGowan, Michelle and Craig Campbell, Cory Hudson, Devon Bierfass, Alexis Bierfass, Angelina Smith, Gabriella Smith, Ian Campbell, Aidan Campbell and Ryder Hudson.
Visitation will be 9:30 AM to 11 AM Monday, December 28, 2020 at Fred Hunters funeral home in Hollywood Florida.
