Marie Michelle Toulme Holly (Michelle) a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed from this life on Thursday February 11, 2016 after a two-year battle with colon cancer. She is survived by her two children Eric Holly, and Cynthia Ramjohn (Paul Ramjohn), as well as three grandchildren, Jayden Ramjohn, Caleb Ramjohn, and Saide Ramjohn. She is further survived by three siblings Jocelyn Piquon, Tony Toulme, and Alix Toulme, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Michelle was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti on December 29, 1951 to parents Felix and Andree Toulme. She adored her childhood and the time spent growing up and playing with her siblings. She had many fond memories which she loved to share with others. She particularly loved mangoes, so much so that as a child she would climb the trees to count the delicious fruit, and write the names of who they belonged to directly on them. That love of nature continued well into her adulthood, as one of her favorite hobbies was gardening.
She was also a nurturer who spent ten years working as a CNA, and the five years prior to her illness, working at a Senior Care Center taking care of those who needed her the most. During that time, she also moved in with her daughter Cynthia and son-in-law Paul, where she spent the remaining years of her life. She was the happiest surrounded by her grandchildren, who adored her. She was able to share in their love, their laughter, and find comfort in their presence.
Michelle was a unique soul who had a zest for life, and handled her diagnosis with bravery, and strength. She never had a complaint, and through the ups and downs, her sense of humor maintained. Even into her last moments on this earth, she carried herself with dignity, her last breaths escaping as gracefully as she lived, with her daughter Cynthia holding her hand.
Let us be silent that we may hear the whisper of God. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
