Born in New York City, he was the son of Catesby Lucian and Lillian
Post Jones of Bernardsville, New Jersey. Formerly of NYC and Rumson, NJ, Mr. Jones is survived by one son, Catesby Mark, daughter-in-law Lisa and two grandchildren Hadley (14) and Langdon Catesby (12) of Fort Lauderdale. He is also survived by two sisters, Sarah Jones Winmill of Rumson and Marian Kingsford Troussoff of Peterborough, NH.
Mr. Jones graduated from the Westminster School, served in the United
States Marine Corps and attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, In 1974 he co-founded Winmill Jones & Walker, a NY Stock Exchange member firm. He had previously established a real estate development company, Continental U.S. Properties. Later he joined Robert A McNeil and the University Group as a director and remained active at major firms in real estate management until the end of his life. He served on the board of the Episcopal Mission Society of New York for many years as well as the Pilgrims Society.
As an avid sportsman, he enjoyed all the activities of field and stream at the Dutchess Valley Rod & Gun Club in Pawling, NY and Camp Fire Club of America. Other clubs included The Racquet & Tennis Club and The Union Club in New York City.
