
Mary Lou (Walton) Ramsey passed away on June 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Mary Lou was born in Bellevue, PA, on May 20, 1933, to William and Nell Walton, and grew up in Ben Avon, PA. She was born into a large family which included five sisters and a brother. Mary Lou attended Avonworth High School where she was head cheerleader and active in chorus, Student Council and National Honor Society. She met the love of her life, Harvey E. Ramsey, as a teenager. They attended the University of Miami, where Mary Lou was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Mary Lou and Harvey married on July 12, 1952, and settled in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They also enjoyed many years at their summer home at Lake Chautauqua, NY, as well as travels throughout the U.S. and abroad. Mary Lou was active in numerous organizations including Junior Welfare Society, the Lauderdale Yacht Club and First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale. Harvey preceded Mary Lou in death on July 19, 2004. Mary Lou is survived by her son David (Debbie) Ramsey and her daughter Linda (Dino) Del Marmol; her grandchildren David Ramsey, Kristen (Adam) Buffolino, Marc (Sachi) Del Marmol, Michelle (Chris) Moeller, Daniel (Meagan) Del Marmol , eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Jo Ann (Jack) Sauer and was preceded in death by her sisters Jane James, Carole McKim, Patricia Harris and Linda Bonebrake, and her brother Bill Walton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary Lou’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
