With profound sorrow and overflowing love, we announce the passing of our beloved Melisha Sarah Trisha Bocas of Plantation, Florida. Melisha passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, at the very young age of 38.
Born on August 16, 1986, in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Melisha was the cherished first grandaughter born in the family. From the very beginning, she brought warmth and joy into the lives of all who knew her. She was the beloved daughter of Lana Ragoonanan and Steve Bocas.
To those who first met her, Melisha may have seemed quiet and reserved—but once you knew her, the conversations flowed endlessly. She had a kind and gentle soul, a radiant smile, and a heart that poured out love to everyone around her.
Melisha was strong-willed and fiercely determined. A true warrior, she faced every challenge life presented—especially her battle with lupus—with immense courage and unwavering strength. She never let her struggles define her; instead, she rose above them with grace, always thinking of her loved ones before herself.
More than anything, Melisha valued time with her family. She found joy in simple moments—talks filled with laughter, shared meals, quiet evenings. Her world revolved around the people she loved, especially her beloved daughter, Celina Rohoman, who was the very center of her universe.
Melisha is survived by her loving parents, Lana Ragoonanan and Steve Bocas; her stepfather, Alan Ragoonanan; her precious daughter, Celina Rohoman; her brothers, Marcus Bocas and Adrian Ragoonanan; and a large and loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Kyum Khan and Barker Bocas, and her grandmothers Marge Bindoo and Pamela Bocas.
Melisha had a few simple pleasures that brought her comfort and joy—Winnie the Pooh, puzzle books, snacks, and dancing the night away with her cousins and close friends. Her love of music and laughter filled every space she entered, and her memory will continue to do the same in our hearts.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Melisha’s life will be held on Saturday July 5th at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, located at 6301 Taft Street in Hollywood, Florida. Please review this page for specific details. While Melisha’s physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will live on through the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her life was one of purpose, resilience, and unwavering love. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
