With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Melvin Chin.
Born in Linstead, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Melvin lived a life filled with love, hard work, laughter and deep devotion to his family. He shared 64 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Vashti, and together they built a beautiful life and family in Florida.
Melvin was a proud father to Peter, Mark, and Amoy and a loving grandfather who treasured every moment with his family. He will always be remembered for his warm personality, great sense of humor, love of cooking, games of dominoes with friends and the many family cruises that created lasting memories.
His kindness, laughter and love will live on in all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered especially by his wife, children, brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024, US, on March 13, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024, US, on March 13, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
