Michael was born on October 21, 1950, in Anchorage, Alaska, to the late Donald and Ruth Magee. He later made his way to Miami, Florida, where he attended school and graduated from North Miami Senior High School. Known as a true jack-of-all-trades, Michael lived life with curiosity, skill, and a fearless spirit. He had a deep passion for photography, piloting small aircraft, truck driving, boating, traveling, and mechanics. If something was broken, Michael could fix it—and if there was an adventure to be had, he was already on his way.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Michael served his country during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected the quiet strength, resilience, and steady dedication that defined the way he lived his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ruth and Donald Magee, and his brother, Donald Bruce Magee.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughters, Diana Willard (Rodney) and Renee Easley; his sister, Maggie Shotwell (Fernando); his cherished grandchildren, Hayley, Katherine, Griffin, Matthew, Elizabeth, Dylan, Charlie, and Michael; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Aiden, Lorenzo, Asher, Ayvah, Reign, and Breckem.
Though he has taken his final flight, Michael’s legacy of ingenuity, adventure, and quiet strength will live on in all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, located at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024, on February 23, 2026. The service will take place from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm.
