Michael Anderson Sealy was born on July eleventh, nineteen hundred and fifty-five in the parish of St. Michael, Barbados to Ms. Maria Sealy and the late Vernon Sealy. He was the second of six children.
Mike as he is known by all, graduated from Modern High School with honors, after which he went on to the University of the West Indies graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Economics. He went on to further his studies in Jamaica at the Jamaica School of Agriculture where he met and fell in love with Ms. Joan Barrett. This union produced two children; Chay Anderson and Rachelle Sara Sealy.
Later in his life Michael migrated to the United States where he established himself in Miami Florida, where he worked as an Insurance Agent/Manager with the then Monumental Life, now Transamerica Life until his retirement in September 2016.
Mike worked tirelessly to make a life for himself and to leave a legacy for his children who he loved with all his being. He was a man of integrity, compassion and a will to succeed, he will never leave anything undone. He was the preacher man, one who you would sit with and be in awe of his knowledge of the scriptures. He was also the no nonsense man, who would look you in the face and tell you, "I am not doing that" or "you are wrong".
Mike loved to cook, and could throw down a mean barbeque. Just last year he was in New York for his mom's eightieth birthday party, the family had a barbeque and Mike took it over and did some finger-licking barbeque chicken. He was such a sport and loved life.
Mike was well loved by his family, he was the big brother, who anyone could go to for advice and counseling, always there when you need him. Just earlier this year, he hinted that he would love to go on a cruise and to go ahead and make arrangements. Well Mike, you are on your cruise, you are now with the Lord.
Mike leaves to mourn his mom, Maria Sealy, his son Chay Sealy, daughter Rachelle Sealy, his brother Richard Sealy, his sisters Verne Alleyne-Leconte, Rosila Sealy and Maxine Spooner, sister in law Margit Sealy and brothers in law Raymond Leconte and David Spooner, nephew Christopher Spooner, neices Nadia Spooner and Svenja Sealy, great nephew Cartier, Uncle Authur Smith and family and many cousins. Also an extended family in Barbados and England.
Special thanks to Ms. Joan Barrett-Sealy, thank you so much also to Ray Benjamin who was always there for Mike, thank you so much. Thank to his coworkers who he loved and cherished and worked with until his retirement. also many friends, too many to mention.
Thank you to a father, son, brother and friend for your kindness to your family and everyone you met. You will be surely missed a lot, lot.
Rest in peace and rise in Christ Glory.
