

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10am at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home in Hollywood, FL. Reverend Headley Phillips of Bride of Christ Worship Center will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5pm to 9pm at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home in Hollywood, FL. A repast will immediately follow the funeral at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home & Community Center as all funeral arrangements are being arranged by Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home in Hollywood, FL.
Sam was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica, West Indies on May 4, 1928. He attended Port Antonio Fort School (Titchfield). Sam married Angela Wood on August 10, 1968 and they were married for almost 54 years.
Sam worked in the dry cleaning industry for over 50 years and was a successful owner of dry cleaning businesses in the Miami (Dade County) area.
Sam is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Angela and their children, Rupert Stewart, Jr., Steve Stewart and Dr. Nicole Stewart, Psy.D.; brother Clive Stewart (Kaye Stewart – Sicklerville, New Jersey), sisters-in-law Maureen Wood Carter (Winston Carter), Sharon Green, Sybil Young, Trudy Stewart, Veronica St. Albin, and Hilary Gibbs (Stone Mountain, Georgia); brothers-in-law Carl “Tony” Parkinson (Keisha Parkinson) and Paul Fairweather (London, England); grandchildren Michelle Stewart, Reginald Stewart, Miles Stewart, Malcolm Stewart, and Simone Stewart; great-granddaughter Larissa Amoi Stewart; daughters-in-law Denise Stewart, Kimberly Wright and Stephanie Williams-Louis, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Maude Walters and Samuel Stewart; sister Viola “Dol” Dobbins; brothers Reginald Stewart, Dudley Stewart, Everett Stewart, Roy Stewart and Kenneth Stewart; mother-in-law Ms. Carmel Williams and brothers-in-law Eon Green and Renford Wood.
