Nelson Cruz

A private funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on July 8, 2021 at Fred Hunter Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 12:45 p.m.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fred Hunter Funeral Home.

Nelson was born in New York City on July 18, 1966.  He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and went on to pursue a career in the Financial Services sector, most recently as a Mortgage Loan Officer for Pulte Homes.  

Nelson was married to Nancy Gonzalez on July 5, 1986; they were married for 34 years.

Nelson is survived by his wife Nancy, his grandson Julian, his father Anastacio Cruz, his siblings Edwin, Evelyn and Henry, his daughter Samantha as well as many other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his name to the ASPCA, American Diabetes Association, and/or the American Heart Association.  Please contact the family directly for any cards, donations or care packages. The family of Nelson Cruz wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses of Advent Health Orlando who lovingly cared for him.
