

Néstor “Pito” Návalo-Powell was born in the Republic of Panamá, to Angela Powell-Diaz and Néstor Návalo-Hall on June 17, 1968. He attended Colegio Paulino San José (primary) and Colegio Abel Bravo for high school, in Panamá. He graduated college with a degree in X-Ray and Imaging Technology from the Universidad Tecnológica Inés Maria Chapman-Waugh in Matanzas, Republic of Cuba.
In 1991, after a short career at a local hospital in Panamá, he migrates to the United States of America with his former wife, Marta Nepton, and his two sons, Néstor Návalo-Nepton and Harold Abdel Návalo-Nepton. They relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida from Brooklyn, New York, the same year. In 1992, he joins the US Postal Service as a T. E. in Pompano Beach, Florida. His last station, before retirement in 2016, was the Weston Branch.
He worked for the United States Postal Service for 24 years, as a mail carrier. It is where he met Sue and the love connection began in 2006. On Saturday, September 11, 2010, in Broward County, Florida, he marries Susan Morton, whom he shared the last 15 years of his journey.
Néstor is preceded in death by his mother, Angela Powell-Diaz, his four grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, one brother, and stepmother Barbara.
Néstor is survived by his wife Susan Návalo, his sons Nestor and Harold A. Návalo-Nepton, his stepdaughter Valerie Sculthorpe (Bryan), his granddaughter Collins, his father Néstor Návalo- Hall, former wife Marta Nepton, his siblings Wali, Nilka, Francisco (Yaisha), Nehemias, Aldo, Noris, Nimel, Norberto (deceased), Nidia, Noel, Darryl, and Nes, his sisters and brothers in law Leroy, Steven, Michael, Sandy, Cindy, and John, seven aunts, two uncles, dozens of cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, his great-nephew Dominik, and dozens of childhood friends, dear friends from work, local, and abroad.
