
Pearl was born in St. Ann’s Bay, Jamaica, to Mary Ann Phillips and Harold Harris, on May 25th, 1929. She met and married Jackson McBean and the union bore four children. Pearl migrated to the United States in 1966, and worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Westport Manor until she relocated to Florida in August 1992 where she lived until her death.
Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, brothers, granddaughter, DeCarla Marie, and most recently her youngest child, Rudolph. (Ruddy)
Pearl is survived by her children Hazel (Hopey) Carlton (Carlos) and Jackie (Minchin). Grandchildren Dionne, Calvin (C J), Stephen, Nicole, Carlton (Andrew), Harold (Joe), Warren (Richie), Rumaine, Nyesha, Natalie, Brandon and Bianca.
Great-grandchildren: Brandon L., Yamille, Yadek, Victoria and Victor Matthew, Mason, Athrell, Jordan, Rumello, Joshua, Ronnie, Nubia, Winter, Sapphire and Natalia. She is also survived by her cousin Caliston Johnson, affectionately known as Uncle Buddy, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Friday February 24th at Fred Hunters Funeral Home, 6301 Taft St., Hollywood, FL 33024.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25thth at St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church, 7801 NW 5th St, Plantation, FL 33324.
Officiating minister Rev. Albert R. Cutie’. Interment follows at Hollywood Memorial Gardens, 6301 Taft St., Hollywood FL.33024.

The family of Pearl Harris McBean wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Aldo Montes, her Primary Care Physician, Dr. Saad Mercer and the great staff of VITAS, Team 149. Thank you to Nurse Andrea who assisted in her care in her final hours. A very special thank you to Lakisha Phillips RN, who cared for our mother during her time with VITAS. Lakisha, I know she felt your love because we did. Thank you to those awesome ladies who cared for our mom during her illness, Claudine, Madge, Ivy and Shereen, you started as caregivers to our mom and became a part of our family. Please know that we love and appreciate you. Our heartfelt thanks to all who took the time to check on her either by visit or telephone over the years, and to Anselma, the director and the wonderful staff at South West Focal Point. Thank you for the years you cared for our mother, her life was so much richer because of you.
