I still miss being around you my dear friend.

Enola, Kara & Myranda. Please accept our condolences. Pete was one of my best friends growing up and I already miss him greatly. I'll never forget our crazy weekends in NYC, chicken fights at the Tumble Inn and the wrestling matches he never let me win! Pete always had a smile on his face; he was so good natured and will always be in my thoughts. My parents were also so sad to hear the news. Pete will be in their prayers as well. The von Zedlitz family will always be here for you. Looking forward to having the three of you visit us in SF!

My condolences to Enola, Kara, Myranda and the Schroeder family. I went to junior high and high school with Pete. His smile would light up a room. I have found memories of being in class with him watching him play sports. Always keep his memory alive by sharing the great stories about him. He is with you always.

When the news reached me, the thoughts that sprung to my mind were "gentle giant" and of the warm and winning smile Pete always had when we were in high school together. He was a gentleman, and had such an easy way about him. I too pray that the devoted love and forever memories that you hold in your hearts of your Dad and husband can be the light that guides your through such a difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I know Pete will be with you always...He is your angel.

Pete, how we miss your walk down the hall and the smile you had for everyone in the office!You had a way of filling the room, not only with your size but your personality and smile!

My condolences to the Schroeder family. Pete and I became good friends during Junior High School and High School but lost touch after College. I'm shocked to hear about his passing and will always cherish the fun times we had playing baseball, basketball, and hanging out during our teenage years. My thoughts are with your family at this very difficult time.

Pete was one of the most happy, thoughtful, and considerate guys I knew in high school. He was never without an uplifting word, or smile to fade away our high scholl angsts... Although I didn't have the pleasure of staying in touch with him beyond high school, I envision these traits were only magnified. I can't even begin to imagine how much he will be missed by Enola, Myranda & Kara, the Schroeder family, and the greater community that I have no doubt he touched. My heart goes out to you all, and my prayers to all of you for courage in the face of this awful, heart wrenching loss.

My heartfelt condolences to Enola, Myranda & Kara & the Schroeder family. I am so saddened by this news, yet I know it is a time to cherish the fond memories of a great father, husband & friend. I remember Pete's intensity. his passion came through his eyes and connected right to you. The last time I spoke with him was in the summer & Pete was patient enough to describe what he had been going through; that was an amzing survival story. I remember his caring and inspiration for my sad tennis game. he always pulled out the best in me. We laughed a lot, too! - him Greg, Danny & I. May your hearts be filled with fond memories & may they heal with Pete's passion always in them.

Pete's positivity was what always struck me most about my tall neighbor from down on Beechberry Circle. His and Enola's beautiful girls, Kara and Myranda, joined this world at about the same time as our family's did. I enjoyed sharing notes with him. Finally, to Enola, your immense strength cannot be measured in mere words. Your girls are in such great hands, able to stand on the foundation that you and dear Pete built for them.

Prayers and Condolences to the entire Schroeder Family. I can only imagine the pain Enola, Kara, and Myranda are feeling. Hopefully it is comforting to know that Pete was always a great guy and a great friend. He was fun-loving and positive. The Schroeder family will remain in my prayers. My condolences to the Schroeder family. Pete lived around the corner from me in Fair Lawn. We carpooled to school and, like others from the neighborhood have written, spent many hours playing sports and hanging out. Although we grew apart as we got older, I will always have fond memories of those times.

My deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to the Schroeder family at this very sad time. I was so upset to hear of Pete's passing. We were such great friends in High School. He always had an ear and was so supportive, sweet and funny. We lost touch after High School but the memories I have of him will live on in my heart forever.Rest in Peace, Pete.

As Pete's next door neighbor growing up in Fair Lawn NJ we spent many hours together playing baseball, horsing around in the front yard, and just hanging around. We lost touch over the past 15 years or so but Pete would come to mind or come up in conversations at times when I saw old friends or visited the old neighborhood. We were close friends and had a great time as kids and teens together. I will miss the thought of Pete as I am sure our other friends and neighbors will. Deepest sympathies to the entire family.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Enola, Kara and Myranda for your tremendous loss. Pete was a great friend with whom I grew up with in Fair Lawn back in the days when Pete lived in the Columbia Heights section of town. The whole neighborhood was a tight knit group who always had fun playing sports and doing foolish kid things. We remained close as we got older and made our way through high school. Pete was always a happy, upbeat guy with a positive outlook who always injected his self deprecating humor as an added bonus. I was shocked to hear that my good friend had succumbed to cancer. Once I was over the shock I was deeply saddened by the realization that I had lost a great friend. My hope is that the wonderful young ladies that had their loving father & husband taken from them so early will find some solace in the fact that while he was here on earth you were the center of his universe. So sorry to hear this news. Pete & I grew up together on Nottingham Rd. I will always remember him as being fun and outgoing. We had alot of good times together. My thoughts are with your family at this very difficult time.

I vividly remember Pete when he began as a Junior Accountant at Edward Isaacs & Company LLP in New York City more than 20 years ago. In addition to being our best tennis player, Peter was highly competitive, ambitious, energetic, and very demanding of himself. I always liked him and appreciated when he called me from time to time from Florida to ask a Tax question. He was always thinking of his clients. He will be sorely missed.by the EICO alumni.

I met Pete and Enola while they were still living in NJ back in the 80's. Pete played tennis with me and became a great friend in no time. Always fun to be around. Laughter and positive energy to spare. Enola and Pete were in our close circle of beloved friends. We missed them after they moved to Florida but were happy to get a yearly Christmas card showing their beautiful daughters as they grew. My family is very sad for what has happened to Pete and his lovely family. They will be in our prayers as they deal with this tremendous loss.

Pete will be in our hearts forever. He showed so much courage throughout his illness and never lost his great sense of humor. He made us all feel so comfortable even at difficult times. He still continued to crack a joke and laugh at Jim's dumb jokes!! What a trooper!!Pete will be sorely missed by all. His love for his family was a constant presence that resonated through him and kept him going. I will never forget his smile on his face as he heard his daughters' names. Remember all the good things about him that brought a smile to your face. His gentle spirit will live on through you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I remember Pete asking me to let Jill join the travel basketball team with Kara. He promised to take care of Jill as though she were his own, and he did. What a wonderful memory and great life-defining experiences my daughter has because of Pete's generosity. Leading by example...yes, that's what Pete did. What a great example!
