

Peter Joseph Trapani was born April 10, 1934 in Irvington, NJ and died at his Plantation home surrounded by loving family on April 10, 2013. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Muriel (Pinky, Mertz) Trapani, who he married on May 9, 1954. He is also survived by five children: Peter Trapani, Jr. (spouse Nelly) of Sunrise, Florida, Melody Trapani of Gainesville, Florida, Marcy Crosby (spouse Glenn) of Homestead, Florida, Samuel Trapani of Spring Hill, Florida, and Chris Trapani (spouse Jennifer) of Davie, Florida. Peter is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Pete served in the US Navy as a Fire Control Technician Petty Officer 2nd Class for 8 years, part of which was served during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he completed high school and attended vocational school for computer programming. His occupation until he retired was a Systems Program Analyst.
He and his family moved from New Jersey to South Florida in 1969. His passion in life was taking care of and loving his family and cooking. His great strengths were teaching his family the true meaning of family, love, honor, and integrity. He was a devoted loving husband and amazing, one-of-a-kind loving, dependable father.
Pete was an active leader of the Boy Scouts of America of South Florida for 17 years, was active with the Altar Guild and New To You Shop at Holy Sacrament Church and assisted with Meals on Wheels of Broward County. He believed in the 3 Fs: Family, Food and Fun.
