Born in Liverpool, England February 6, 1927, to George John Oliver and Catherine Simpson Oliver. A British Subject at birth. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years Jr Eugene Barber. Survived by her three sons: Raymond (Linda) Barber of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael (Joanne) Barber of Cooper City, FL and John (Robin) Barber of Browns Summit, North Carolina. 10 loving grandchildren, Christopher, John, Mark, Greg, Liz, Kristen, Michelle, Nicole, Jason, Justin and 16 great grandchildren.
Phil was a woman “a head of her time,” at 18 years old she left her family and country that she loved, as a war bride, coming to the United States. Phil was socially active in many organizations. A lifetime member and Sister of Beta Sigma Phi. She was active member of the Elkettes and one of the first women in Plantation to become an Elk. An active parishioner of St. David’s Catholic Church, where she attended and volunteered. In her retirement she became a Broward county realtor. She and her husband traveled to Europe and back to her beloved England many times. She will always be remembered by her lovely English accent.
