Prudence “Peaches” Penney passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2020. She was born April 19, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois and began her career as a physical education teacher at Bremen High School in Midlothian, Illinois.
Peaches moved to Plantation, Florida in the late 1950’s and later in 1992 became a resident of Fort Lauderdale.
Peaches was a Physical Education Teacher for 33 years with her last 10 years at Plantation High School. In 1973, she was named Physical Education Teacher of the Year in Broward County, and she was also a Coach for many sports team, including tennis and golf. Peaches was also an avid and experienced Boat Captain, traveled the world, and enjoyed many adventures with family and friends.
Peaches was preceded by her adored parents, Vern and Sophia Penney. And also her nephew, Michael Vernon Penney.
Peaches is survived by her spouse, Janice Bark, and her brother, James Vernon Penney (Joyce). She is also survived by nieces and nephew, Mark Penney, Stacey Penney-Gambonini, Bridget Penney, Liz Penney-Harvey.
