Ricardo Guerra

The funeral service will be held at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home located at 6301 Taft Street Hollywood Florida 33024. Visitation will be held on Saturday May 15, 2021 from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. followed by a brief service at 6:00 p.m.

Ricardo Guerra was born in Camaguey Cuba on September 28, 1940.  Ricardo was a devout Catholic. He said he had a calling from God to become a Catholic Priest and serve him throughout all his days. Plans changed once he met his bride to be Mirian.  He quickly married the love of his life and they have been married 54 beautiful years.

Through God’s grace he was able to receive assistance from the Catholic Church in Cuba. He was able to flee Cuba with his wife by his side cradling their eight-month-old son, Francisco to Madrid Spain. In Spain they were blessed with their second born son Alfonso. After 2 years in Spain the family immigrated to America. They settled in Miami Florida then shortly after created a home in Hollywood. His mission in life was to serve God and give his family opportunities that he never had growing up. He wanted to give them the “American Dream” and that he did.

Ricardo worked in the Maintenance industry for over 45 years. He was well known by many he worked with as being generous, hard working, and selfless.  It didn’t matter what Ricardo was doing he had such a passion for life. He is a man of faith, has a heart of gold, and a presence so endearing to be around.  Ricardo may have left this Earth but he will remain in our hearts forever.  He is survived by his wife Mirian, his sons Francisco and Alfonso, and his two grandsons Frankie and Ryan. Rest in Peace Ricardo.   We will be reunited again someday and until then we have a new Guardian Angel to watch over us.
