Richard C. Carr of Hollywood, FL passed away on January 17, 2016 at the age of 72. He was born on December 2, 1943 in Neptune, New Jersey. After serving in the US Army he enrolled at The Maryland Institute of College Art in Baltimore, MD and earned his BFA in Art Education. After graduation he moved to South Florida in 1975 where he served and taught as an art teacher in the Dade and Broward school systems. He was also a member of The American Legion.
He was a talented artist, an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved anything related to the Old West and painted various historical figures of that era.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna, daughter Monica Scott and Son-In-Law Thomas Scott, granddaughters Emma Scott of Davie, FL, Erinn Scott of Orlando and brother Nelson S. Carr of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, and various niece's, cousins and one nephew.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home 6301 Taft Street Hollywood, FL 33024 at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in Mr. Richard Carr's name.
